In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Old Windmill, Bankside, Southwark (illustrated); John Bunyon's Meeting House, Southwark; William and Mary Yard, Little Poultney Street; Gray's Inn Lane; East end of Serles Court; and Darkhouse Lane by James Lawson Stewart. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,493.75), 56% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by James Lawson Stewart; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Entrance to the cloisters from Dean's Yard, Westminster (illustrated); Bell tower of St. Stephen's Chapel, Westminster; Courtyard of the Deanery, Westminster; The ancient gateway, Dean's Yard; and Judge Jeffries' House, Duke Street, Westminster sold at auction in November 2010 with the realized price of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,941.87).
