It achieved a price of GBP 1,187.50 (€ 1,419.06), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 70%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by James Lawson Stewart; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Entrance to the cloisters from Dean's Yard, Westminster (illustrated); Bell tower of St. Stephen's Chapel, Westminster; Courtyard of the Deanery, Westminster; The ancient gateway, Dean's Yard; and Judge Jeffries' House, Duke Street, Westminster sold at auction in November 2010 with the realized price of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,941.87).
