Auction result well in line with expectations

In September 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, which included the work Bringing Home Turf, Leenane, Connemara by James Humbert Craig. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,508.85) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Humbert Craig achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Soft Day, Connemara in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 69,600.00 (€ 102,421.11).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im September 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bringing Home Turf, Leenane, Connemara von James Humbert Craig zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.508,85) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Humbert Craig erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Soft Day, Connemara im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 69.600,00 (€ 102.421,11).
