Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Driving the first pile at the Belfast Corporation Electricity Supply Station, Musgrave Channel Road, Thursday 11 September 1919 (White Star Liner 'Olympic' in the background) 46 x 56 cm. (18 1/8 x 22 in.) by James Humbert Craig was sold in the The Irish SaleVision & Voice auction at Bonhams in Dublin in November this year. The price achieved of EUR 10,240.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Humbert Craig achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Soft Day, Connemara in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 69,600.00 (€ 102,421.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Driving the first pile at the Belfast Corporation Electricity Supply Station, Musgrave Channel Road, Thursday 11 September 1919 (White Star Liner 'Olympic' in the background) 46 x 56 cm.
