Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Night Storm and Sea by Haughton Forrest was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in November 2003. The price achieved of AUD 2,820.00 (€ 1,701.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Haughton Forrest achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Top Sail Schooner And Sailing Yacht in March 2005 with an auction result of AUD 65,725.00 (€ 40,238.76).
