Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, which included the work Fishing on the Hudson by James Goodwyn Clonney. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,292.00 (€ 4,931.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by James Goodwyn Clonney have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Boy Fishing in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 45,376.17).
