Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Boy Asleep At The Base Of A Tree by James Goodwyn Clonney. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,149.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by James Goodwyn Clonney have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2019 the work Boy Fishing was auctioned for USD 50,000.00 (€ 45,376.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boy Asleep At The Base Of A Tree von James Goodwyn Clonney zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.149,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von James Goodwyn Clonney konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2019 die Arbeit Boy Fishing für USD 50.000,00 (€ 45.376,17) versteigert.
