This artwork by James Edwin Meadows achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2011. In the Victorian & British Impressionist Art auction, the work On the road to the fair sold for GBP 6,500.00 (€ 7,588.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Edwin Meadows - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Homeward Bound, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,822.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von James Edwin Meadows erzielte im November 2011 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit On the road to the fair für GBP 6.500,00 (€ 7.588,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James Edwin Meadows mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Homeward Bound beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.822,77) versteigert wurde.
