This artwork by James Edwin Meadows achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2008. In the European Noble and Private Collections auction, the work Fishing boats off a jetty on a squall sold for EUR 8,750.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Edwin Meadows - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Homeward Bound, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,822.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von James Edwin Meadows erzielte im Juni 2008 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion European Noble and Private Collections wurde die Arbeit Fishing boats off a jetty on a squall für EUR 8.750,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 3.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James Edwin Meadows mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Homeward Bound beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.822,77) versteigert wurde.
