In October 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Afternoon stroll in the outskirts of a village by James Edwin Meadows. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,885.19), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Edwin Meadows - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Homeward Bound, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,822.77).

Im Oktober 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Afternoon stroll in the outskirts of a village von James Edwin Meadows zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.885,19) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von James Edwin Meadows mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Homeward Bound beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.822,77) versteigert wurde.
