This artwork by James Dixon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2001. In the The Irish Sale, Part II, including the Studio Collection of auction, the work The nicest Boat on the World sold for GBP 3,760.00 (€ 6,303.73) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Dixon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self Portrait, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 11,750.00 (€ 19,699.14).

Dieses Kunstwerk von James Dixon erzielte im Mai 2001 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Irish Sale, Part II, including the Studio Collection of wurde die Arbeit The nicest Boat on the World für GBP 3.760,00 (€ 6.303,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James Dixon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self Portrait beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für GBP 11.750,00 (€ 19.699,14) versteigert wurde.
