Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2001 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale, Part II, including the Studio Collection of, which included the work Cutting Corn by James Dixon. The price achieved of GBP 4,465.00 (€ 7,485.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Dixon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self Portrait, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 11,750.00 (€ 19,699.14).
