Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Untitled (view through window/ view of interior), double sided by James Castle was sold in the Outsider Art auction at Christies in New York in February last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,466.32), 18% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by James Castle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled Construction (Large Blue Jacket) in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 41,470.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (view through window/ view of interior), double sided von James Castle wurde im Februar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Outsider Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.466,32) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Castle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled Construction (Large Blue Jacket) im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 41.470,23).
