Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Untitled (sheds and structures/ landscape with machinery), double sided by James Castle was sold in the Outsider Art auction at Christies in New York in February last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,352.64). Admittedly, works by James Castle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled Construction (Large Blue Jacket) in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 41,470.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (sheds and structures/ landscape with machinery), double sided von James Castle wurde im Februar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Outsider Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.352,64) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Castle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled Construction (Large Blue Jacket) im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 41.470,23).
