In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction MARITIME PICTURES, which included the work The Steamship Teutonic by James Bourne. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 480.00 (€ 705.18), 60% above the upper estimate. This high result makes The Steamship Teutonic the most expensive artwork by James Bourne that we have observed at auctions so far.
