Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A cottage in a hilly landscape by James Bourne was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 94.00 (€ 153.64). Admittedly, works by James Bourne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Steamship Teutonic in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 480.00 (€ 705.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A cottage in a hilly landscape von James Bourne im November 2000 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 250,00 – 350,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 94,00 (€ 153,64) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Bourne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Steamship Teutonic im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 480,00 (€ 705,18).
