Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Vales Of Ennerdale And Buttermere With Their Lakes And Those Of Crummock And Loweswater by James Baker Pyne was auctioned at Sothebys in London in February 2019. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,581.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Baker Pyne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work VIEW OF THE CUSTOM HOUSE FROM THE THAMES in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 41,825.00 (€ 65,495.79).
