Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work Gulf Of Salerno by James Baker Pyne for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,459.57). This price was achieved in the auction British & Irish Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by James Baker Pyne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work VIEW OF THE CUSTOM HOUSE FROM THE THAMES in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 41,825.00 (€ 65,495.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2014 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Gulf Of Salerno von James Baker Pyne für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.459,57) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British & Irish Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Baker Pyne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit VIEW OF THE CUSTOM HOUSE FROM THE THAMES im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 41.825,00 (€ 65.495,79).
