Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A view of Florence, from San Miniato by James Baker Pyne was sold in the British & European Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 6,862.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by James Baker Pyne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work VIEW OF THE CUSTOM HOUSE FROM THE THAMES in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 41,825.00 (€ 65,495.79).

Die Arbeit A view of Florence, from San Miniato von James Baker Pyne wurde im Juli 2019 in der Auktion British & European Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 6.862,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
