In April 2014 Il Ponte held the auction XIX and XX Century Sculptures and Paintings | Furniture and Old Master Paintings, which included the work L'isola di Murano, Venezia by James Baker Pyne. The auction ended at the price of EUR 1,500.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 1,200.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Baker Pyne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work VIEW OF THE CUSTOM HOUSE FROM THE THAMES in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 41,825.00 (€ 65,495.79).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im April 2014 führte Il Ponte die Auktion XIX and XX Century Sculptures and Paintings | Furniture and Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit L'isola di Murano, Venezia von James Baker Pyne zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 1.500,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.200,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Baker Pyne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit VIEW OF THE CUSTOM HOUSE FROM THE THAMES im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 41.825,00 (€ 65.495,79).
