Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work Contemplation By The River by James Baker Pyne. The price achieved of GBP 384.00 (€ 550.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Baker Pyne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work VIEW OF THE CUSTOM HOUSE FROM THE THAMES in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 41,825.00 (€ 65,495.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Contemplation By The River von James Baker Pyne zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 384,00 (€ 550,20) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Baker Pyne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit VIEW OF THE CUSTOM HOUSE FROM THE THAMES im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 41.825,00 (€ 65.495,79).
