Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2000 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work Harvesting by James Alfred Turner. The price achieved of AUD 4,700.00 (€ 2,844.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Alfred Turner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On Guard in May 2004 with an auction result of AUD 101,575.00 (€ 59,347.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2000 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Harvesting von James Alfred Turner zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 4.700,00 (€ 2.844,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Alfred Turner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On Guard im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 101.575,00 (€ 59.347,00).
