Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak, which included the work Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) by Jagdish Swaminathan. It changed hands for a price of USD 138,600.00 (€ 124,943.66) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jagdish Swaminathan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) in September last year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 837,166.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) von Jagdish Swaminathan zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 138.600,00 (€ 124.943,66) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jagdish Swaminathan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 837.166,51).
