It achieved a price of USD 302,400.00 (€ 272,604.35), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 68%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jagdish Swaminathan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series), which sold at auction in September last year for USD 819,000.00 (€ 837,166.51).

Die Arbeit Text Decoded II von Jagdish Swaminathan kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 302.400,00 (€ 272.604,35) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 68%. Für andere Arbeiten von Jagdish Swaminathan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 819.000,00 (€ 837.166,51) versteigert wurde.
