This work without title by Jagdish Swaminathan was sold in the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Bonhams in Hong Kong in June this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 190,900.00 (€ 222,174.73), 59% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jagdish Swaminathan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series), which sold at auction in September last year for USD 819,000.00 (€ 837,166.51).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jagdish Swaminathan wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 190.900,00 (€ 222.174,73) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jagdish Swaminathan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Bird, Tree and Mountain Series) beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 819.000,00 (€ 837.166,51) versteigert wurde.
