In May 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Beginning of a Story by Jagannath Panda. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 823,500.00 (€ 67,795.85), 53% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jagannath Panda; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in March 2008 with the realized price of USD 133,000.00 (€ 84,150.59).

Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Beginning of a Story von Jagannath Panda zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 823.500,00 (€ 67.795,85) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jagannath Panda; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 133.000,00 (€ 84.150,59).
