The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 42,500.00 (€ 58,362.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Jacques d'Arthois have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2014 the work A wooded landscape with figures and a dog on a path, with a river and a castle in the distance was auctioned for GBP 58,750.00 (€ 74,102.22).
