Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Rocky Cove With Fisherfolk On The Shore, An Artist Sketching In The Foreground by Jacques d'Arthois was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 26,207.15). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacques d'Arthois - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A wooded landscape with figures and a dog on a path, with a river and a castle in the distance, which sold at auction in July 2014 for GBP 58,750.00 (€ 74,102.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Rocky Cove With Fisherfolk On The Shore, An Artist Sketching In The Foreground von Jacques d'Arthois im Dezember 2012 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 21.250,00 (€ 26.207,15) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacques d'Arthois mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A wooded landscape with figures and a dog on a path, with a river and a castle in the distance beobachtet, die im Juli 2014 für GBP 58.750,00 (€ 74.102,22) versteigert wurde.
