Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Half Length, In Full Armor, Holding A Partesan, A Broad Sword At His Hip by Jacopo da Ponte. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 700,000.00 – 900,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 746,500.00 (€ 570,762.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacopo da Ponte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Adoration Of The Shepherds in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 8,901,000.00 (€ 6,593,333.33).

Im Februar 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman, Half Length, In Full Armor, Holding A Partesan, A Broad Sword At His Hip von Jacopo da Ponte zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 700.000,00 – 900.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 746.500,00 (€ 570.762,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacopo da Ponte erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Adoration Of The Shepherds im Januar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.901.000,00 (€ 6.593.333,33).
