Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jacob van Walscapelle could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art auction, the work Grapes, Pears, A Melon And A Pomegranate On A Stone Ledge, With A Façon-De-Venise Glass, A Tall Wine Glass, A Glass Bottle With A Silver Top And Peaches On A Branch changed hands for USD 17,500.00 (€ 11,791.66) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.0 Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob van Walscapelle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A peony, an iris, a poppy, anemones, morning glory and other flowers, in a glass vase, with a caterpillar, a beetle and other insects, on a stone ledge in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 722,500.00 (€ 911,299.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

In der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art wechselte die Arbeit Grapes, Pears, A Melon And A Pomegranate On A Stone Ledge, With A Façon-De-Venise Glass, A Tall Wine Glass, A Glass Bottle With A Silver Top And Peaches On A Branch für USD 17.500,00 (€ 11.791,66) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob van Walscapelle erzielen.
