Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Flowers in a glass vase on a ledge, with insects amd shells by Jacob van Walscapelle was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 51,707.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob van Walscapelle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A peony, an iris, a poppy, anemones, morning glory and other flowers, in a glass vase, with a caterpillar, a beetle and other insects, on a stone ledge in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 722,500.00 (€ 911,299.66).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A peony, an iris, a poppy, anemones, morning glory and other flowers, in a glass vase, with a caterpillar, a beetle and other insects, on a stone ledge im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 722.500,00 (€ 911.299,66).
