The work Herdsmen and their cattle by an encampment by Jacob van Strij was sold in the The Decorative Arts Sale, incl. Fine Paintings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2012. The auction ended at the price of EUR 3,500.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob van Strij - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Southern Hilly Landscape With Shepherds Resting With Their Herd, A View Of Ruins Beyond, which sold at auction in November 2008 for EUR 13,750.00.
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Herdsmen and their cattle by an encampment von Jacob van Strij wurde im Juni 2012 in der Auktion The Decorative Arts Sale, incl. Fine Paintings bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 3.500,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacob van Strij mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Southern Hilly Landscape With Shepherds Resting With Their Herd, A View Of Ruins Beyond beobachtet, die im November 2008 für EUR 13.750,00 versteigert wurde.
