Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 896.25 (€ 1,289.25). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob Spin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The sailing frigate 'Johanna' in calm water, which sold at auction in February 2008 for EUR 3,000.00.

Thacher Of Boston Off The Texel, 1870 von Jacob Spin wurde im November 2004 in der Auktion MARITIME AND NAVAL BATTLES (PICTURES) bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 896,25 (€ 1.289,25) einen neuen Besitzer.
