Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work The brig Triad of Sunderland in The Sound with Kronborg Castle off her port bow by Jacob Petersen of Copenhagen. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,590.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Jacob Petersen of Copenhagen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A group of Danish cutters including the Camilla racing to windward in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,369.93).
