Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The English brig Endimion sic of Whitby in the Sound off Kronborg Castle by Jacob Petersen of Copenhagen was sold in the Maritime Pictures auction at Christies in London in May 2004. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,107.00 (€ 4,661.64). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob Petersen of Copenhagen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A group of Danish cutters including the Camilla racing to windward, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,369.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The English brig Endimion sic of Whitby in the Sound off Kronborg Castle von Jacob Petersen of Copenhagen wurde im Mai 2004 in der Auktion Maritime Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.107,00 (€ 4.661,64) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacob Petersen of Copenhagen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A group of Danish cutters including the Camilla racing to windward beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für GBP 6.462,50 (€ 10.369,93) versteigert wurde.
