Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Sleeping Antiope Approached By Jupiter by Jacob Jordaens was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2020. The price achieved of USD 237,500.00 (€ 214,098.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Jordaens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Martin Healing The Possessed Man in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 4,730,000.00 (€ 4,366,691.29).

Die Arbeit The Sleeping Antiope Approached By Jupiter von Jacob Jordaens kam im Januar 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 237.500,00 (€ 214.098,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Jordaens erzielen.
