In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings, which included the work Christ Triumphant Among The Nine Penitents by Jacob Jordaens. The »bidding war« ended at USD 441,000.00 (€ 378,638.28), 47% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Jordaens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Martin Healing The Possessed Man in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 4,730,000.00 (€ 4,366,691.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Christ Triumphant Among The Nine Penitents von Jacob Jordaens zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 441.000,00 (€ 378.638,28) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Jordaens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saint Martin Healing The Possessed Man im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.730.000,00 (€ 4.366.691,29).
