The »bidding war« ended at GBP 69,600.00 (€ 83,114.76), 39% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jacob Grimmer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Massacre Of The Innocents in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 313,250.00 (€ 375,161.12).

Die Arbeit A View of Kiel on the Scheldt with Antwerp beyond von Jacob Grimmer wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 69.600,00 (€ 83.114,76) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacob Grimmer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Massacre Of The Innocents im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 313.250,00 (€ 375.161,12).
