Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An Allegory Of Spring by Jacob Grimmer was sold in the Old Masters Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 90,662.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jacob Grimmer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Massacre Of The Innocents in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 313,250.00 (€ 375,161.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit An Allegory Of Spring von Jacob Grimmer wurde im Juli 2017 in der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 90.662,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacob Grimmer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Massacre Of The Innocents im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 313.250,00 (€ 375.161,12).
