Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Entrance To A Village With Peasants Carousing by Jacob Grimmer was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 86,500.00 (€ 111,354.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob Grimmer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Massacre Of The Innocents, which sold at auction in December 2011 for GBP 313,250.00 (€ 375,161.12).

Die Arbeit Entrance To A Village With Peasants Carousing von Jacob Grimmer kam im Dezember 2014 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 86.500,00 (€ 111.354,19) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacob Grimmer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Massacre Of The Innocents beobachtet, die im Dezember 2011 für GBP 313.250,00 (€ 375.161,12) versteigert wurde.
