Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings, which included the work A landscape with a village, a church on a hill in the background (recto); A ruined courtyard, after Dürer's engraving of The Nativity (Bartsch 2) (verso) by Jacob Grimmer. Here, the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 20,315.00 (€ 16,314.65). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Grimmer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Massacre Of The Innocents in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 313,250.00 (€ 375,161.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A landscape with a village, a church on a hill in the background (recto); A ruined courtyard, after Dürer's engraving of The Nativity (Bartsch 2) (verso) von Jacob Grimmer zur Versteigerung kam.
