Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a lady of the Colonna family, half-length, in a dove-grey gown and pink silk wrap by Jacob Ferdinand Voet was sold in the Face Time: People in Art through the Ages auction at Christies in London in June 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 17,896.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jacob Ferdinand Voet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Philippe, Duc de Vendôme (1655-1727), Grand Prior of the Knights of Malta in France, bust-length, in a feigned oval in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 99,650.00 (€ 115,593.70).
