Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Jackie by Jacob Epstein was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. The price achieved of USD 1,260.00 (€ 1,072.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Epstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sir Winston Churchill in June 2014 with an auction result of GBP 182,500.00 (€ 228,025.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Jackie von Jacob Epstein kam im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.260,00 (€ 1.072,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Epstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sir Winston Churchill im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 182.500,00 (€ 228.025,02).
