This artwork by Jacob Epstein achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2014. In the Modern & Post-War British Art auction, the work Sir Winston Churchill sold for GBP 182,500.00 (€ 228,025.02) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 70,000.00. This high result makes Sir Winston Churchill the most expensive artwork by Jacob Epstein that we have observed at auctions so far.
