Auction result misses estimated price range
In March this year a collector was able to acquire the work Doris Keane by Jacob Epstein for USD 1,402.50 (€ 1,290.01). This price was achieved in the auction Modern Art Online at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Epstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sir Winston Churchill in June 2014 with an auction result of GBP 182,500.00 (€ 228,025.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Doris Keane von Jacob Epstein für USD 1.402,50 (€ 1.290,01) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern Art Online bei Bonhams erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Epstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sir Winston Churchill im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 182.500,00 (€ 228.025,02).
