Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Bonhams in Edinburgh held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work The Waiter and The Wife by Jack Hoggan. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 35,580.00 (€ 41,856.48), 19% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jack Hoggan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scarlet Ribbons, Lovely Ribbons, which sold at auction in October 2020 for GBP 93,812.50 (€ 104,170.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Edinburgh die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Waiter and The Wife von Jack Hoggan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 35.580,00 (€ 41.856,48) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jack Hoggan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Scarlet Ribbons, Lovely Ribbons beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für GBP 93.812,50 (€ 104.170,78) versteigert wurde.
