Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still life by Jack Hoggan was auctioned at Bonhams in Edinburgh in October last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 9,562.50 (€ 11,140.21). Admittedly, works by Jack Hoggan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Scarlet Ribbons, Lovely Ribbons in October 2020 with an auction result of GBP 93,812.50 (€ 104,170.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still life von Jack Hoggan im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Edinburgh versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 9.562,50 (€ 11.140,21) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jack Hoggan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Scarlet Ribbons, Lovely Ribbons im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 93.812,50 (€ 104.170,78).
