Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Gold Script On Black And Red by Jack Leonard Shadbolt was auctioned at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of CAD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for CAD 14,400.00 (€ 11,253.06). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jack Leonard Shadbolt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Proclamation, which sold at auction in November 2011 for CAD 42,000.00 (€ 30,607.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Gold Script On Black And Red von Jack Leonard Shadbolt im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in Toronto versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für CAD 14.400,00 (€ 11.253,06) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jack Leonard Shadbolt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Proclamation beobachtet, die im November 2011 für CAD 42.000,00 (€ 30.607,89) versteigert wurde.
