Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Joseph H. Hirshhorn: Collector for a Nation, Part II, which included the work Autumn Still Life by Jack Leonard Shadbolt. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 12,568.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jack Leonard Shadbolt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Proclamation, which sold at auction in November 2011 for CAD 42,000.00 (€ 30,607.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Joseph H. Hirshhorn: Collector for a Nation, Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Autumn Still Life von Jack Leonard Shadbolt zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 12.568,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jack Leonard Shadbolt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Proclamation beobachtet, die im November 2011 für CAD 42.000,00 (€ 30.607,89) versteigert wurde.
