In March last year Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, which included the work The Ocean Glade by Jack Butler Yeats. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 81,900.00 (€ 97,101.67), 37% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Butler Yeats achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Whistle of a Jacket in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 1,103,750.00 (€ 1,850,462.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Ocean Glade von Jack Butler Yeats zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 81.900,00 (€ 97.101,67) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Butler Yeats erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Whistle of a Jacket im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.103.750,00 (€ 1.850.462,00).
